Word 4 Today December 26, 2011

A research group at Johns Hopkins reported that the three things people forget most often are names, where they put something, and telephone numbers.  Thirty-eight percent of us forget whether we’ve just done something!

Sometimes we also have a problem with forgetfulness in our spiritual lives.  When trials come, we seem to forget that God cares.  When we feel lost, we forget that He is our guide.  When things look impossible, we forget that’s His specialty.

Why do we forget?  Because we fail to remember God’s promises, the treasured promises in His Word, and we forget that not one of His promises has ever failed!

With God all things are possible.  (Matt. 19:26)

If God is for us, who can be against us?  (Rom. 8:31)

What would happen if every day, we made a decision to remind ourselves of God’s great promises?  We just might find our faith expanding, our obedience growing, and our hearts soaring.  Our souls would be strengthened, and our outlook on life would be amazing.

God’s powerful promises bring hope and joy to you each and every day!
