HOW TO HAVE A GREAT DAY
Start by deciding to have a good day. “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Ps. 118:24).
Are you happy? Well, you better tell your face; if you have a smile in your heart, put it on. “For the Lord does not see as man sees; For man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Sam. 16:7). Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth. Do twice as much listening as talking. “He who guards his mouth preserves his life” (Prov. 13:34). Stand for what’s right and good. “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Gal. 6:9).
When you don’t know what to do … look up. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Phil. 4:13). Trust God to show you the way. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Prov. 3:6). Remember prayer has been given to solve problems, so pray often and worry seldom. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Phil. 4:6).
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Dear Lord, transformation is Your goal for us; help us to train our minds to dwell on all things that pertain to You. If we do the simple things to the best of our ability, most of the big things will take care of themselves.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
God never gives us more than we can handle … graciously!
