Word 4 Today December 22, 2011

I spend a lot of time in Old Scottsdale, drinking coffee and eating scones.  Just kidding although, I have been known to do that at times, like yesterday.  I think I can do this now because I have learned to be at peace.  Peace is the key to life, and my motto is “peace at any price.”  I really have made it a practice to pursue peace, and that allows me to leave my mind pretty uncluttered.  Sometimes we are too busy or we become “right fighters,” unwilling to give in.  I have found that being right, being popular, or trying to please people is way overrated.  I would rather have peace than anything else in this world, no matter what the cost.  All conflict does is keep peace and joy out, and we become non-receptive to the things of God.  Jesus is called the Prince of peace, and peace should always be the barometer of our life.  No matter what the situation or circumstance, the peace of God is what will get us through.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6–7).  In other words, be happy and don’t worry!

May the peace of God surround me like a gentle mist, and may His favor be upon me each and every day.

Peace at any price!
