Word 4 Today December 20, 2011

God is waiting to do mighty works in your life, and I know beyond a doubt He is always ready to shower you with His love and blessings through the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Are you ready to receive it?  The problem with most people is that they don’t go to God until they have a problem.  When things are going right and they have plenty, they don’t need God; they go to Him last instead of first, so their priorities are backward.  It’s like putting the cart before the horse—there’s just no power there.

In order to receive what God has to give us, we must put Him first and foremost in all of our affairs.  Proverbs 3:5–6 in the Amplified Bible tells us to Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.  In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plan your paths.”

Lord, do I trust You enough to keep Your promises?  Do I trust You enough to meet my needs?  Do I trust You enough to go to You first?  Do I trust You enough to direct my steps?

I had better!
