Word 4 Today December 13, 2011

My brother, I hope that the Lord leads you to speak about the end-times.  Are we running out of time?”

You may have something there on the end-times.  There are no Bible prophecies that need to be fulfilled before Christ can return in the rapture (the return of the Lord for His church).  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God And the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we, who are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds.  And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thess. 4:16–17).

I agree the time is short, and I am never complacent about the return of the Lord.  I have learned that my rapture could take place today.  I could die today, so either way, if I am taken away by divine appointment or if Jesus returns, I will be lifted up.  It’s a win-win.

Dear God, for the believer, the return of Christ is a joy and a comfort.  We need to know that the coming of the Lord is as certain as the flood in Noah’s day, and we need to let others know that our boat, the Lord Jesus, was given to us by God to save us from the coming storm.

Have you accepted the only way of escape in the coming storm?
