Word 4 Today December 12, 2011

SPECTATOR OR PARTICIPANT?

We must always prepare for fantastic days by eliminating negative and destructive thoughts and putting aside the cares of the world and all of the junk that it force-feeds us daily.

May we begin to walk in faith and confidence and make a conscious decision not to stress and worry—after all, it is a decision we make.

Always remember God has given us this day to enjoy, if we choose to do so. This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Ps. 118:24).

Don’t live life on the defensive, waiting for something good to happen or for someone to be kind and gracious to you. Become an offensive player; go out and be kind and do good to someone else first.

It’s amazing how our problems will disappear when we take the focus off of ourselves and set it on doing something for others. In this life, there are only two kinds of people .… spectators or participants—which one will you be?

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, give me wisdom to make a decision every day to be blessed by being a blessing to others.  Today I choose to participate in life by serving You through serving others.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Give away what you have plenty of—yourself.
