Word 4 Today November 20, 2011

On this doorstep of another day, we may have no idea what it will hold, but we have faith and assurance that God does.  That gives us the confidence to live this day with hope and great expectation.  Here on the doorstep of this brand-new day is a good place to reflect on our personal lifestyles and habits, to decide which are helping us develop Christian character and which are not.  It’s a good place to choose Godly traits for our lives: integrity, courage, wisdom, and faithfulness.  It’s time to choose traits like compassion and generosity that cause us to reach out beyond ourselves to others.  We want our lives to reflect contentment and confidence—Christian characteristics that are worked out in the practical, everyday things of life.  “I am the Lord your God who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go” (Isa. 48:17).

Well, Lord, it sounds pretty clear that I have a choice to make as to what I believe and whose voice I choose to listen to.  From what You say, one will lead to victory, and the other to destruction.  I think I will choose the one that leads to victory.  Your way just makes sense, and that is enough to convince me to believe.

What are my options? Let’s see: life and victory or death and destruction!
