Word 4 Today November 16, 2011

Unconditional love, what does that mean?  We really don’t know.  In all of our relationships and in all of society today, love tends to be based on certain conditions and factors.  It seems if we behave well and act accordingly, perform well and are attractive, appeasing, or entertaining, we are loved.  Well, that’s kind of subject to interpretation, isn’t it?  There is one love, however, that is perfect, and that is the kind of love God has for us.

It is a sacrificial love, a perfect love, and an everlasting love.  It is an immeasurable love and a love without conditions.  It is a gift that we can’t work for or earn by merit, because it is freely given.  Love is who God is!  It’s His very nature, and it is His desire to show you that love and have you share His love with others.  I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you” (Jer. 31:3).

God, You have promised to provide all our essentials.  Lord, before we were ever born, You knew exactly what we needed, and You have promised to provide it.  May we reach out by faith and receive all that You have given us today.

God is the God of forethought, not afterthought!
