You are probably going to laugh at this, but when you’re done laughing, stay with me.  My wife and I recently attended an Engelbert Humperdinck concert in Sun City, Arizona.  My wife has always been a big fan, so for her birthday, my daughter purchased us tickets.  It was his fortieth year in show business, and I am old enough to remember many of the hits he has had in his long career.  At one point in the concert, he explained how he got his big break in show business.  He said he was nothing, nobody, until someone gave him a song to record.  He didn’t even like the song but decided to record it anyway; the title was “Release Me.”  His choice to record that particular song catapulted him into stardom, and “Release Me” stayed on the chart at number one for fifty-six weeks.  What if he had delayed making that decision?  As he began to sing, I began to cry, not because I loved the song but because I was sitting there with my beautiful wife with tickets purchased by my wonderful daughter.  I was humbled by the fact that I was here on a beautiful night enjoying the wonderful music with beautiful company.  Why was I there, and why was I so blessed?  It was all because of a decision I made many years ago to turn my life over to God.  What if I had delayed that decision?  The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord” (Prov. 16:33).

Crossroads, a fork in the road—life is full of so many choices.  Lord, at every turn, let me go to You first and ask what choice I should make.  I don’t know the future, but You do; and I know if I depend on You to help me make the right choice, it will always bring me to the right place.

Right results come from making right decisions!
