The Golden Rule” is a fundamental moral principle that simply means “Treat others as you would like to be treated.”  The Golden Rule is interpreted as mutual respect for one’s neighbor. A person attempting to live by this rule treats all people, not just members of his or her in-group, with consideration.  Jesus said, Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Matt. 7:12).  In short, mirror what you expect to get back and give what you expect to receive.  If you want kindness … be kind.  Understanding … understand.  A smile … smile.  Whatever you want God to do for you, do for someone else.  What a difference we could make in the world if we lived in this fashion.

Today, I will look at all you have done and marvel.  The Golden Rule was made so easy to understand.  It’s meant to bless us by showing us the principle that leads to happiness.  Lord, may I mirror to others what I would like to be reflected back to me.

How do you want others to treat you?
