Word 4 Today November 1, 2011

On earth, we don’t always feel secure and loved.  We go through life wondering how we fit into our families, or if our friends like us.  Sometimes we even have a difficult time liking ourselves and that’s pretty normal, we all have insecurities.  Many of us go through life wondering if God really loves us and truly has accepted us into his family.  What a horrible way to live!  It is difficult to imagine us as children of God, going around like beggars when our sin debt has been paid in full and we are firmly and eternally planted into the family of God.  “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus …” (Rom. 3:24).

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.  When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you” (Isa. 43:1–2).  Lord, I need to say this over and over until I finally believe it.  May I come to the realization that what You say will come to pass when I learn to trust.

We all fall short … except God!
