A HELPING HAND
You can never help others unless you understand the person you are trying to help. To understand the problems and temptations of others, you must have been through them yourself. Then when we see weakness in others, we can share our weaknesses and temptations and let other people find their own convictions. “Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy” (Prov. 31:9).
PRAYER FOR TODAY
I know the elimination of self is the key to happiness, and can only be accomplished with God’s help. The journey may begin with a small spark of God’s Spirit and a lot of selfishness, but as I grow, I must learn I can take one of two paths. I can become more selfish and extinguish the spark, or I can become more unselfish and grow more and more in honesty, purity, and love. “Walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Col. 1:10).
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
God uses our weaknesses to strengthen others.
