DEPRESSED AND DEJECTED
Recent reports indicate that over twenty-five thousand people take their lives annually in America alone. What must go through the mind of those who take their own lives, not to mention those who have attempted it? Many of these individuals may feel they have nothing left to live for. Some feel as if no one cares but wants to hear someone does. I am persuaded that subconsciously all who are depressed and dejected want to be told they have something to live for, a reason to get out of bed and move forward in life. Sometimes all people need is an understanding ear, one of compassion. Listen carefully to those around you. No one ever woke up and decided to end their lives, it all started with feelings of depression and dejection. Not a very happy thought for the Word 4 Today, but one kind word, one expression of love might just stop a person from committing an act that cannot be remedied. A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24
PRAYER 4 TODAY
Dear Lord, there are a lot of forces out there fighting for our souls, our joy, our happiness. Give us an attentive ear that is sensitive and responsive to those around us. Let us not be so occupied with self that we can no longer hear the cries of those who are depressed and dejected.
THOUGHT 4 TODAY
Give your life to God; you will have everything to gain and nothing to lose!
