Word 4 Today September 22, 2011

The most important question you may ever face is, what will you do with Jesus?  Be careful of your answer, eternity rests in it. The process of salvation is pretty simple so for those who are interested keep these thoughts in mind.  We must first come to the realization that we have all sinned and need a Savior.  “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.(Rom. 3:23)  Repent of sin, and simply ask God to forgive you.  “…But unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”  (Luke 13:3)  Confess your sins to God.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  (1 John 1:9)  Forsake sin and turn in a new direction.  Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”  (Isaiah 55:7)  Receive Christ in your heart by faith and believe on His finished work on the cross.  “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”  (John 1:12)  Last, make Him Lord of your life.  “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Rom. 10:13)

Dear Lord, thank You for making salvation so simple to understand.  Six easy and at the same time very practical steps that we can all take, no matter how young or old we are.  Let me encourage you that it is never too early, or ever too late to receive God’s offer of salvation.

A few simple steps will lead you to a lifetime of happiness!
