Word 4 Today August 9, 2011

Everything we do should be done to show a world that is lost and dying what the love of God is all about.  Everything God does is out of love and everything we do should be in the best interest of others.  My concern is that somewhere along the line we have lost our way and have forgotten the principles and values that give life its meaning, joy, and purpose.  True love looks to be a blessing and an encouragement to others.  It does not look for faults, but looks for the grace necessary to overlook those faults.  Shepherd the flock of God, which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly.  1 Peter 5:2

Dear Lord, Love is not taught it’s caught; by the people closest to you.  Then it’s copied; it’s the simple act of doing what God has done for you all of your life, and that is love you unconditionally.  Once you caught and copied love you must then convert that love by sharing it first and foremost with your spouse, your children, and all others who are a part of your life.

Willingly and eagerly, that’s how we roll!
