Word 4 Today August 8, 2011

Being “Salt” and “Light” comes with tremendous responsibility.  How does the way we behave in our everyday life reflect God?  Does the way we treat others give them hope and show them a happier and more productive way to live?  Is our attitude one of compassion?  Do we look for the good in others and point it out?  Does our faith in God compel us to behave differently than the rest of the world?  Does our “good work” glorify the Father?  The Word of God was not written just to be read, but was written to be read and applied.  Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.  As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.  1 Peter 4:9-10

Lord, allow me to test myself.  Is it possible to get through one day without grumbling, murmuring or complaining?  Can I for one day be compassionate and find good in others?  In me, is the world going to see a difference?  Give me the strength, No! Give me the courage I need to be a difference maker.

Are you willing to be the difference?
