“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11

In order to prepare for the day we must select the clothes we want to wear and physically put them on.  It works the same way in the spiritual realm, we must deliberately choose to put on the armor God has given us in order to be victorious in our walk as believers.  The Bible tells us that our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  (1 Peter 5:8)  We must never forget we are in a spiritual war, but God has given us all we need for victory.  Pray this daily and see how God will change your life.

Good morning Lord.  Thank You for assuring me of victory today.  By faith I choose to follow Your battle plan and prepare myself according to Your instructions.  To prepare myself for any battle ahead, I put on the belt of truth. Renew my mind with what is true and expose my heart to any lies I might be tempted to believe.  You are a sovereign God who loves and cares for me. I have been bought with a price and nothing can separate me from Your love.  By faith, I put on the breastplate of righteousness.  I commit myself to doing what’s right, by allowing the righteousness of Christ to shine through me today.  I now put on the sandals of the gospel of peace (The good news).  Make me available to You by using me in the lives of others.  Make me a calming presence and a channel for good wherever I go.  Now I take up the shield of faith.  My faith is in You alone, without You, I can do nothing.  I am confident this shield will protect me from all of the fiery darts the enemy will throw at me today.  This shield gives me the assurance of victory no matter how great the battle is.  By faith I put on the helmet of salvationThank You for saving and forgiving me.  Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to live inside of me.  Today, I surrender my will to You.  And finally, I take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.  This is our greatest offensive weapon… no Word… no power!  Thank You Lord for choosing me to represent You even in difficult and troubled times.  May I go out knowing that if I deliberately choose to put on Your armor I will be assured of Your protection.

Might as well start thanking Him now!
