To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted…. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

I think many of us suffer from a lack of patience.  Perhaps we need to gain a different perspective in the art of patience.  When we first purchased our home in 2004, it was just a dirt lot, but the architect had an entire community planned; we just couldn’t see it yet.  Later that year we came back and were amazed at the progress our home started to take.  It had shape and form.  Four years later, it’s a new world, we now have trees and neighbors, clean streets, birds flying overhead, and the sound of kids playing.  What was once a barren piece of land is now a thriving community.

What I’ve learned from all this is that nothing good happens fast.  Everything requires time, time requires patience, and patience requires trusting and waiting on God.  Right now you might feel that your life is like that empty lot, barren, but God has already designed a thriving community for you to live in, but you must be patient and willing to wait for it to be built.  No matter what you are going through, right now, believe God has a better plan.  Don’t lose heart, give up, or quit.  Keep up the faith, remain optimistic because good things always happen IN DUE TIME!

Lord may I learn to go slow and never run ahead of Your perfect timing.  In Your wisdom and sovereignty, You have set an appropriate time for everything to happen.  Today may we trust Your judgment in every circumstance and every situation.

The farther I get in front of You, the further I get behind!
