Word 4 Today July 29, 2011

I have seen many sunrises and many sunsets in my life, and you know each one is more beautiful than the one before and they keep coming.  What did I have to do with them?  I wasn’t meant to do anything with them but enjoy them. We have been given so much to enjoy and at the same time we take so much for granted.  It seems that the longer I live the less I seem to know.  I can in some ways explain the ways of man. I have some idea of his goals and aspirations, his love, his desires, his hopes and his dreams, but I can in no way explain the marvelous beauty of the earth and it’s universe.

I have no way of knowing where life originated and you know, I don’t think I am supposed to know.

I have learned however to let my heart rise with the sun, to sing along with the birds, to swallow the clouds as if they were cotton candy, to adorn myself in the colors of nature and to rejoice in the miracle of life.  Each night, shortly after the sun lays its head upon its pillow and goes to sleep, I lay my head on my pillow confident and sure that as wonderful as today was, tomorrow will be even better.  In every season we are shown that life continues to blossom and grow and that we have the awesome privilege of enjoying every moment of it.  What’s also true is that “you can’t take what you’ve been blessed with and take the credit for it.”  Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.  Colossians 3:2

Today, be thankful, be grateful, and be happy. I’ve learned that it’s better not to wait for a crisis to discover what’s important in your life.

Have you discovered what’s important in your life?
