Word 4 Today July 15, 2011

I don’t consider myself a religious person, a bible scholar, or anything else other than a person who has been through a lot of pain and misery, but by the grace of God has found a way to be set free from it. My concern for the modern church is that it’s becoming competitively filled with too many charismatic, intellectual, and feel good preachers, who’s biggest concern seems to be who has the largest congregation, the most services, collects the most money, or sells the most books.  Can a house that’s divided stand?  We have Christians who change churches at the drop of a hat if they “feel” offended by the transforming message of the gospel.   It’s just not popular anymore to convict people of sin, and ask them to change the way they live.  Were we not sinners saved by grace?

Before you get fooled or carried away from false teaching, remember:

1. No feel-good message can ever be a substitute for the Word of God…the Bible.  If you are interested in truth, it’s in there.

2. No other name given on earth or in heaven other than Jesus, can give us access to God.

3. No power, direction, or wisdom can be received apart from Holy Spirit, which lives inside of each and every believer.

4. Nothing but God’s immutable truth can even come close to setting you free.

And you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free.  John 8:32

May the grace, favor and all blessings from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and allow you to find peace in your heart.

The Truth that sets us free was given to us freely, but it cost God a lot.
