Word 4 Today July 10, 2011

Hi Al, every once in a while I take this out and read it. You gave it to me, maybe 15 years ago and it’s always in my pocket, thanks, “GOD BLESS.” I carry a cross in my pocket a simple reminder to me, of the fact that I am a Christian, no matter where I may be. This little cross is not magic, nor is it a good luck charm. It isn’t meant to protect me, from physical harm. It’s not for identification for the entire world to see, it is simply an understanding between my Savior and me. When I put my hand in my pocket to bring out a coin or a key, the Cross-is there to remind me of the price He paid for me.  It reminds me too, to be thankful for my blessings day by day and to strive to serve Him better in all that I do and say. It’s also a daily reminder of the peace and comfort I share with all that know my master and give themselves to His care. So, I carry a Cross-in my pocket reminding no one but me that Jesus Christ is Lord of my life if only I’ll let Him be. “Very nice”… Your brother: Nick.

It still amazes me to see what happens when you plant a seed (The Word of God) into someone’s heart and watch it grow.  Sometimes it takes a while but with care and patience it eventually blossoms and turns into something beautiful.  The Word of God never comes back void and although it may have taken fifteen years for that seed to grow look how much you’ve blossomed.  You are awesome and words cannot express how much that meant to me.   Matthew 13:31, 32“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
