A MATTER OF PERSPECTIVE
I broke my hip once and was forced to maneuver through life for a while with a walker. I don’t like it, it bugs me and actually I can’t stand to look at it. When they gave it to me they asked if I wanted to buy it or rent it, I said “Rent it, cause it’s going back.” I recently visited a friend who was very ill and in the hospital. It was sad to see her in such poor condition, but although I felt bad I managed to smile and be an encouragement to her. After my visit I was shuffling and gimping down the hallway when a nurse approached pushing a lady in a wheelchair. The lady in the chair gazed at me and said, “Boy I wish I could walk like that.” She encouraged me.
The point is, in life we are all in different places and in different seasons. Our circumstances don’t always appear as we think they should; yet we are put here for a reason that is much larger than ourselves. Our circumstances or conditions should never be the issue, what we do with them should. You can be a blessing; it’s just a matter of perspective. My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. James 1:2-3
PRAYER 4 TODAY
Dear Lord, there is nothing joyful about trials or no value in suffering for its own sake. Everything we go through is meant to test our faith, teach us to patiently endure and then share it with others. May we learn that You have a purpose for everything You do and everything we go through.
THOUGHT 4 TODAY
Most of the time the tests we go through are meant to benefit others.
