We ought to stop and periodically review our lives in light of God’s Word.  Very often this is all it would take to alert us to a dangerous trend or to confirm that we’re heading in the right direction.  Haggai 1:5-6-7 Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts:  “Consider your ways!  You have sown much, and bring in a little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”  Thus says the Lord of hosts“Consider your ways!” There is never a point in life in which we should stop learning and growing.  We must always be diligent, active, attentive and painstakingly industrious by evaluating ourselves frequently and honestly.  2 Timothy 2:15  …Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

So many of us are afraid of change, but change is what life is all about.  Good change, positive change, change that comes from being honest with myself.  Lord, let me examine what works and does not work for me.  Give me the wisdom to check my thoughts, behaviors and patterns and make sure they take me to the place of positive growth.

For better or for worse, one way or the other, I will change!
