PROPITIATION:  AN ATONING SACRIFICE

God is love.  It’s not what He does, but what He is.  It is His nature, His very being.  Because of His great love for mankind He has offered the shed blood of his only begotten Son as payment for the sin of every man, woman, and child from Adam to eternity.  The Bible clearly tells us that God is not willing that any should perish.  If He does not want any to be lost, He obviously provided a way for all to be saved.  It is not God who prohibits us from coming to Him, but it is our own misguided thinking, our arrogance and our pride that keep us from living in eternity with our Father and creator.

It is obvious to all there’s a creator.  The world does not exist by chance and we did not evolve from nothing.  God created each and every person in the image and likeness of Himself.  It is we who are misguided, misconceived and in denial of the existence of the one true God.  God is Holy and cannot stand in the presence of sin but despite the fact that man chose to sin God still had no desire to punish sinners.  He offered us all a way to spend eternity with Him.  On the cross, Jesus went to hell so we would not have to, it is by choice and through unbelief in the atoning death of our Lord that causes us to spend eternity separated from our creator. In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins 1 John 4:10

PRAYER 4 TODAY

Dear Lord, thank You, thank You, for doing for me what I could never do for myself.  I now know I may stand in Your presence one day knowing I am right with You.  Blessed be thy Name.

THOUGHT 4 TODAY

It is frightening to think where I would have spent eternity without – You.
