Word 4 Today April 20, 2011

On the cross, Jesus bore and forgave all of your sin.  He paid your debt in full, past, present and future.  Christ’s death and resurrection were permanent transactions, they could never be overturned and they are irrevocable.  The promise of that payment was eternal life to anyone who believes and accepts Jesus into his or her heart and mind.  Your belief, or faith in Him, sealed the deal and there is nothing you can do to change that (once saved, always saved).  If you still are not completely sure that you are eternally His, ask yourself:  If all of my sins were not paid for at the cross, is there hope for me? If He did not pay for all of my sins which ones did he forget?  Does Jesus come back and die, every time we sin?   If Christ died before we were born, did He know which sins we would commit? Are we more powerful than God, can we un-turn his verdict of “not guilty”?  Yet in all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:37-39

Lord, how can I worry, fret and doubt when Your Word states so clearly that there is nothing under heaven or earth that can separate me from Your love.  No matter what I am going through I can rest and be confidently assured that You are always with me, guiding me, protecting me, and loving me.

I must decide, do I believe Your Word or not?
