Word 4 Today April 2, 2011

Real peace of mind comes from being tuned to the will of God.  It is only by yielding, the giving up of our will for God’s will, that brings true joy.  If we follow His will, all of life goes right and everything tends to turn out well in the end.  Doing God’s will should bring delight because He is always faithful.  Jesus was able to go as far as the cross, because He knew the will of God and the results His will would produce.  Although He was able to call upon legions of Angels to rescue Him from death, He yielded to His Father’s will.  Choosing otherwise would have left all of us without hope.  “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.  The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”  Again a second time, He went away and prayed, saying.  “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”  Matthew 26:41-42

Lord, I pray for the strength to yield to Your will today no matter how difficult it might be.  I may be right occasionally, but You are right always.  Let me depend more and more on You, “Thy will be done.”

Yield!  No matter what.
