Word 4 Today March 25, 2011

What do a good mattress, a best friend, and a loving spouse have in common?  They all offer support when you are tired, spent, worn-out, or run down.  What makes these things good is determined by the support they give, not what they take.  The same is true with God, He says: “Come unto me all that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)   When the cares of life seem overwhelming, turn to God.  Real rest and relaxation come from a deep sense and awareness of God’s presence.  His everlasting and loving arms are always underneath you to support you.  God’s strength is always available if you are aware of His support.  When you are tired, go to Him in prayer and communion and trust that He will hold you up.  He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.  He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me.  They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support.  2 Samuel 22:17-19

I pray that I may rest in Your loving arms and be supported by Your loving grace.

Am I too heavy for God to carry?
