Word 4 Today March 16, 2011

We were not created for ourselves.  Even long time Christians forget that if God only wanted to save us, we would have been gone by now.  He specifically left us on earth to be like cool rivers in a thirsty land.  Living for God means we give of ourselves through love and service.  It means we are to be like channels whose cool waters flows into the lives of others.  Love and service create spiritual trees and flowers that spring forth and yield abundant fruit.  We are called to irrigate the lives of others, by being a blessing wherever we go.  Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is counted as a forest.  Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.  The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.  Isaiah 32:15-17

I pray that I may give freely to all who ask my help and become like a cool river in a thirsty and dry land.

God bless me so I may bring buckets of water to those who are stuck in the wilderness.
