Word 4 Today February 18, 2011

Do you know on a daily basis how many blessings we receive which we do not deserve?  We spend far too much time waiting for the big blessing to happen and overlook all of the little things that God takes care of everyday.  Gratitude to God, in all things, makes us humble.  The truth is we can do little by ourselves, so we must rely on God’s grace in helping others and ourselves.  People don’t care for those who are smug and self-centered or those who gossip and criticize. We should walk in true humility at all times, giving gratitude to God.  That’s what will make us effective. Blessed are the poor in spirit.”  “Blessed are the meek.”  “Blessed are the merciful.”  “Blessed are the pure in heart.”  (The Beatitudes from Matthew chapter 5)

Lord, give me wisdom today to see all of the many blessings You have to offer.  You promise that if I walk in the spirit of humility, I may rely on Your promise of blessing and Your grace to carry me through, knowing humility carries a great reward.

Collect all of the little nuggets God gives daily and you will discover a treasure chest full of blessings.
