THE BIG LIE

I hope you have all been wonderfully blessed and amazed at what God has accomplished in your life this month.  The Devil is still out there telling people that God does not exist and even if He does, He’s too busy to deal in our little affairs.  He tells you that if God is just, then we’re all going to heaven anyway.  Then, you have religion telling you that somehow you don’t measure up, or you have to work real hard to be good and maybe, just maybe, God will accept you.  You are either encouraged by works to gain access to heaven, or discouraged by not enough works to prevent you from getting there.  It is a crazy world with some crazy ideas.  The truth is, …all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 – I guess that means “ALL” but praise God for faith in Jesus, that through Him we might be made right with God. Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

It is only by the simple act of admitting our lost and fallen nature, and by accepting Jesus’ death on the cross as payment for our sin and asking Him to become Lord of our life that we can be made right with God the Father.  There is no other way! For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  Romans 10:13

PRAYER 4 TODAY

Lord I believe that by putting my faith in Christ, I have bridged the gap to salvation and eternal life.

THOUGHT 4 TODAY

Dear friends, we live in Arizona just south of the Grand Canyon.  The Grand Canyon measures 18 miles across that’s 95,040 feet.  Now most people can jump about 5 feet.  Michael Powell set the record for the long jump at the world championships in Tokyo, Japan. That jump was 29 feet 4 and 1/2 inches.  Even with his record jump, it left him 95,010.8 feet short of reaching the other side of the Grand Canyon.  Heaven is farther away than that, so how are you supposed to get there by your works, deeds, talents, abilities, hopes, dreams, ambitions, or wishes?  You can’t, it is only by the grace of God, through the death of His Son, that we might cross, the wide gulf between heaven and hell, eternal life or eternal death.  Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  John 14:6
