Word 4 Today January 30, 2011

The paradox of the abundant life is: the more you give, the more you have.  So give and keep giving and let no selfish thought prevent you from giving away love, help, understanding, and sympathy.  Give and keep giving, of your time, your personal ease, your comfort, and your money.  You are rich in one respect in that you have an inexhaustible spirit.  If you lose your life in the service of others, you save it.  If you give abundantly, you will live abundantly.  The world can’t figure out what, “It is better to give than to receive” means, but to the one who has found that the secret to abundant living is giving, it makes perfect sense.  Then Jesus said unto His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”  Matthew 16:24-25

Lord I pray that I might live to give.  I pray that I remember the paradox of the abundant life.  The more I give, the more blessed I become.

Do I know the secret?
