Word 4 Today January 20, 2011

We sometimes have a tendency to be too hard on ourselves.  We dwell on past mistakes, faults and failures from the past.  We have not looked to God’s grace, His forgiveness, and His love for us.  It’s time to put the past behind you, and to let go of shame and remorse and contempt for yourself.  We all have stumbled, failed, or fallen short, but God was always there to pick us up and put us on the right course.  So you got delayed a bit, don’t be too hard on yourself, don’t stay in the spot where you fell but get up and press towards the goal of a better life.  Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things, which are behind, and reaching forward to those things, which are ahead. Philippians 3:13

Lord we know you are a loving Father who does not beat us when we fall.  You do not criticize or condemn; when we fall you are always there to pick us up, help us to our feet and set us on the right course.

Am I harder on myself than God is on me?
