Proverbs 25:21, 22 – If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head and the Lord will reward you.  Before salvation, we were enemies of God, yet God because of His great mercy and love for us He sent the Bread and Water of life, His only Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross so that we might live.  “For God so loved the world (us) that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”  John 3:16, 17

Out of His great love God sent Jesus into the world to pay the price for our forgiveness.  Those of us who understand that have an obligation and a duty to love, do good, and continue to walk in faith believing that after salvation God left us here for a reason.

Lord, I think Proverbs 25 says it all.  We were left behind for a reason and although the circumstances may be different for everybody the purpose is the same to do good even to those who are not always good to us.  I love the last five words; The Lord will reward you.  He always does!

What else?  The Lord will reward!
