Proverbs 21:2 – Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts.  God wants your heart.  He is not interested in outward compliance, lip service or religious pretense; His desire is that we willfully and joyfully obey.  Proverbs 22:4 (Amp Bible) – The reward of humility and the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.  When we focus our energies on gaining wealth, fame, prestige or honor, we cannot focus our attention on gaining an intimate relationship with God and we also end up alienating our friends and family.  You must keep following God and trusting Him to reward you.  It may appear on the surface that the wicked have better lives than we do, but it’s a big mistake to envy them.  In the end, they have nothing and you will have everything.

Lord, I am as guilty as anyone at focusing my attention on things that are unimportant and irrelevant in the big picture.  Let me turn my attention towards You where it belongs.  I think I write these daily’s for myself sometime because I need to be reminded there is only one way to get things right and that is by doing things the way You want them done.

Some things money can’t buy… joy being one!
