Word 4 Today October 15, 2010

So many of us have been hurt, making it difficult to accept God’s love even though it is always there.  An old proverb says; “A dog who has been scalded by a bucket of hot water is also afraid of a bucket of cold water.”  We have all been burnt before, but don’t be afraid, Jesus said, “ Whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.  But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14  The world is so big and the problems are so many.  I believe that there are many out there searching and struggling for acceptance and reassurance.  We need to let them know that they are not alone and that someone understands and cares for them.

Focus on prayer moves God and changes things.  Prayer will make us victorious in our every day lives and we will continue to grow as individuals and as a community.  Lord, we need less programs, seminars and gimmicks and more intercession on the part of God’s people, both as a group or alone.

Focus on what’s important… people!
